Grading: 40 points each (groups), 50 points (solo)

For this project, you’re going to create a fake social media account or a biographical comic poster for a major figure of the Gilded Age.

You will use any web-based resources you choose to create a profile page for one of sixteen historical figures.

If you choose the social media route, you can complete it in one of four ways:

  1. Download and save this PowerPoint template, which you can manipulate to reflect your figure’s Facebook activity.
  2. Download and save this Microsoft Word template, and replace the data with what you find in your research.
  3. Create a biographical Instagram account. Using historical photos and illustrations, tell the person’s life story. Posts must be chronological, and you should date each post (when applicable). Important: Every post must include the hashtags #2024honorshistory9 and #[your person’s last name].  If you’re working alone: 25+ posts; groups of two should have 40+.
  4. Create a biographical Twitter (I still refuse to call it X) feed. As above, tell the person’s life story. Posts must be chronological, and you must date each post. Important: Every post must include the hashtags #2024honorshistory9 and #[your person’s last name]. If you’re working alone: 40+ posts; groups of two should have 75+. Photos, maps, illustrations, political cartoons, and links to film clips are all welcome.

If you go the comic route, it can be digital (comic or infographic style) or physical. A regular sheet of paper is fine. The writing and illustration should all be your own. Be sure to include the same categorical information as laid out in the first Facebook template.
